You read that right! Saveway a little convenient store located on Occidental in Pioneer Square is where ALL the ingredients were picked up 🙂 When I run out of anything (which happens frequently) I run over to Saveway which is quite the adventure especially after 9pm.
If done correctly, these cookies will be chewy with a hint of Pioneer Square’s skid row :0)
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (very important…not  melted)
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons. vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon backing soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
* Cooking time in our oven is about 12 to 14 minutes
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl mix together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy and light in color. Add the egg and vanilla and mix in.
Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Stir in the Saveway goodness (bittersweet chocolate chips:0)
Roll dough into meatball sized balls. And place on cookie sheet.
Let cool for about 5 minutes.
This recipe makes about 3 dozen cookies.
