I woke up on Saturday to the smell of sticky buns! Believe it or not I never had one before. But before the (cook) get’s into how to make sticky buns…now is probably the best time to introduce Jack (aka the cat). Jack is the cook’s best friend, he literally follows her everywhere. I am assuming he is also trying to take over my roll as sous chef but I will do everything in my power to make sure he does not 🙂

From the cook…

  • Trader Joe’s Buttermilk biscuits from Ballard store (4609 14th Ave NW)
  • Mrs. Butterworth’s maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup chopped California almonds
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon. cinnamon
  • a pinch of nutmeg

*Used a loaf pan…cooked for slightly longer than originally thought as my biscuits were overlapped on each other.

Spray the loaf plan with a non-stick spray (I used pam). Mix the melted butter and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup in a bowl. In another bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon and California chopped nuts.

Pour in about half the syrup mixture in the bottom of the loaf pan. The sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top add a pinch of nutmeg.

Lay the Trader Joe’s buttermilk biscuts on the bottom of loaf pan, overlapping edges.

Top with the remaining syrup and sugar mixtures.

Bake at 375 degrees for approx 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool for 1 minute in the pan.

Turn loaf pan over onto plate…ENJOY!!!!!!! You will love these.
